The Corrosion Behaviors of an As-Rolled Mg-8Li (in wt.%) Alloy in Two Differently Concentrated NaCl Solutions

By means of an electrochemical workstation, hydrogen evolution device, optical microscope (OM) and scanning electron (SEM), the corrosion behaviors as-rolled Mg-8%Li alloy with a dual phase structure in 0.9 wt.% NaCl 3.5 solutions have been investigated compared. The results show that when immersion time exceeds 8 h, rate is 3 times higher than solution. Moreover, are obviously different two differently concentrated solutions. In solution, localized much more severe can occur simultaneously interior both ?-Mg ?-Li matrix phases. However, solution weak mainly occurs at phase.
